We don't mind sharing causes. In fact, we get kind of psyched about it. For myself, I think that giving of my money is a really neat way to engage more with the things I say I care about, without expecting anything in return. So, I'm really excited to share this cause with you – THRIVE New England is pulling together a LOT of resources and a LOT of really talented people to scheme up an incredible campus that's going to serve girls aged 13-17 who have been trafficked or exploited.
It's kind of a really big deal. They're about to set the bar really high when it comes to aftercare and delivering programs that get these girls restored to society in better condition than when they were taken out of it. Many of the girls are expected to have been lost out of the foster system, so the team will be working closely with Maine foster care to find these girls homes to spend every coming Christmas in... a family for life. This is a beautiful thing and has so much love and care behind it.
Where you come in: they're launching a big crowdfunding campaign to kick things off, with the goal of raising $25k. I'm committing to raise $2,000 (and hoping to beat the director to it, wink wink!), and I'm inviting you – you awesome bonJOY subscribers and fans – to join me in having a part in making that happen. $10, $25, or whatever you can afford makes that counter go higher and will be used wisely. Promise. I truly believe in these guys and count it a privilege to be helping push thing along.
Other ways you can help cheer them on:
- Like their Facebook page.
- Share this post with your networks to get the word out.
- Give $10 or more whenever you're able.
Thanks you guys! I hope at the very least you just enjoy hearing about what this group is up to. Feel free to share this, and send us any causes you want everyone to know about. There is great good in the world and we love being part of it!
